I drove the Mini to work today and had the opportunity to park it next to a Challenger and a extended cab pickup. As can be seen the Mini is still small. One thing I did notice is the temp went up quite a bit in 93 deg Atlanta traffic. On the 4th I’m going to be in a parade with it. Overheating is a risk. I’m thinking of flushing the radiator and using some water wetter. Any other ideas for helping it run cooler?

If you can squeeze it in, I’d definitely suggest an electric fan that you can run as much as you need to.

Electric fan conversion? Could hit up the local pick and pull yard and see if there are any used ones of a useful size?

If all else fails, connect a Very Large Array of Computer Fans in whatever diameter you wish.

Best radiator fan overall is the yellow six - blade metal one. (That one used to be the “export/tropical models” one, back in the day. ) P r o b a b l y t h e s i n g l e m o s t i m p o r t a n t b o l t - o n m o d i f icati o n t o a i d i n the cooling.

An electric fan is not a bad idea. Minispares and its affiliates used to sell the Revolite one with an adjustable rheostat and sensor you plug into the top hose. Nice brackets t o h o l d it i n c l u d e d . It works pretty well, actually (I have it in one of the Minis) but I would also install an override switch to turn it on yourself.
There is one more tricks but it involves unbolting the water pump (is it fine??) and dremeling the block face a bit.

That is a great list thanks! It does have the export fan. I’ve got a new thermostat and temp sensor on the way. I will look into the rest for sure. For next week I’m just going to do a flush and make sure the heater is hooked up so I can run it if need it.
